🎄 Light Up Madison
Celebrate the magic of the Christmas season in Downtown Madison at Light Up Madison, hosted in partnership by the Kiwanis Club of Madison and the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism! This annual community tradition brings families, friends, businesses, and organizations together for an evening of holiday fun, activities, shopping, and the Light Up Madison Christmas Parade.
You DO NOT have to register to attend the event as a participant.
✨ General Event Information
Light Up Madison is a family-friendly community Christmas celebration featuring free games and activities, entertainment, local food and craft vendors, Christmas gift items, and more.
The event is scheduled for 4:00–7:00 p.m., with the Light Up Madison Parade starting at 6:00 p.m. Community and business-sponsored booths will offer free activities and giveaways throughout the event.
Come early, enjoy the festivities, shop with local vendors, and find your spot along the parade route as Madison lights up for Christmas!
Event participation registrations (vendor or parade) are due Thursday, November 24.
🛍️ Vendors, Activities & Community Booths
Local businesses, organizations, food vendors, crafters, and community groups are invited to be part of Light Up Madison.
Food & Craft Vendors: Booths selling food, crafts, Christmas gifts, and other items may participate for a $25 donation fee. Electricity cannot be guaranteed, although quiet generators are permitted.
Free Activity & Entertainment Booths: Community organizations and businesses may also host booths offering free games, activities, entertainment, or giveaways. Instead of a booth fee, participants are asked to donate non-perishable food items, which will be distributed to local organizations.
Vendor and activity booth setup is from 3:00–4:00 p.m., and space is limited. All participants must meet Kiwanis International guidelines and provide a non-political, child- and family-focused experience.

🎅 Light Up Madison Parade
Businesses, churches, civic organizations, clubs, families, and community groups are encouraged to join the fun and light up an entry for the Christmas parade! Floats, cars, trucks, trailers, walkers, and other creative entries are welcome, and prizes are awarded for Best Overall and Most Creative.
Parade lineup begins at 5:00 p.m. at Farmer’s Home Furniture, 349 SW Range Ave. Lineup spaces are first come, first served, and the parade steps off at 6:00 p.m. Parade participants are asked to donate non-perishable food items to be distributed to local organizations. All parade entries must have lights.
For everyone's safety, candy, toys, beads, and other items may not be thrown from parade units. Participants wishing to distribute items must have walkers hand them directly to spectators. Walkers must accompany the parade unit and maintain its pace. Parade entries may not promote political affiliations or causes, firecrackers and similar explosions are prohibited, and participants should follow all additional safety guidelines included on the parade application.
